Drift, Lap 2

Drift, Lap 2

~by Cristofer Smith

Note: Drift is a racing word ~ stemming from my motorcycle racing days, always fun!

Ok so let’s pick up where we left off and I’ll give you brief fun history of how this all came about. I grew up in a large family with five sisters and a brother, so lots to do and see through our youth. We grew up loving animals and helping each other get things done. This included looking good for our dates!

From left to right: With my Mom and Dad at 3 years old. Me with all my sisters and little brother.

I don’t want to touch to much on my Great Grandparents, Grandparents and Parents, although they were a major player in our life’s journey and our decisions to do what we do today are based on their teachings. Our Great Grandparents and Grandparents were the pioneers in a US industry known today as the gaming industry—they were the founders. They began this journey in Reno, Nevada in 1932, so growing up was somewhat different than say normal! We had a body guard take you to school and a father who worked some strange hours.

Anyway, time to get to our Mom who was a mannequin and print model for various design houses and national retail chains throughout the fifties. As Mom went through her journey she was profoundly enthralled in the Health & Fitness world, and being from San Francisco she was introduced to the world famous Jack LaLaine. Mom can talk hours on this but I’m on a restricted time line. Oh yes and she was the Mother of seven wild children!

Now you’re beginning to get the picture. I made a decision early in life that I enjoyed the outdoors more than the indoor life, and went on to racing professionally followed by then making clothing for active people and athletes. Had to do something to keep people clothed in something that allowed them comfort, style and a great fit. Not only that, but I wanted to do it in a way that wouldn’t hurt our planet or you!

I would like to hear from anyone, anywhere, anytime to know we are doing our job right for you, our customer. Please email me at and if you have a suggestion, or a design you want to see, I’m all ears!

As I wrap up drift #2 I will bring you more about the journey into Eco-products and the science of them.

Stay Tuned!
