The Most Important Thing You Didn’t Know About Green Apple

As we introduce our new sustainable watercolor collection, we thought it would also be a great time to look back at our roots and see how far we’ve come. Whew! It’s been one craaazy ride, from our very first collection to developing a wide selection and meeting loyal customers like you.

Today, we want to talk about the philosophy behind something many of you have seen on your tunic tops but might not have thought about – our motto, "Live organic... Live free..."

We believe that with great power comes great responsibility. We can make big changes to the earth we all share, so we also all have the responsibility to take care of it. And we don’t mean just the little patch of earth we’re on for a few decades! We strive every day to make sure the earth we leave is a little better than we found it.

We choose to live organic because it’s just better for everyone but better for you and for the earth. Since our beginning, we made a conscious choice not to settle for the usual materials, but to go the extra mile and use bamboo as our primary fabric. The organic bamboo material is great for you because it’s really, really comfortable! And because it’s natural, you’re free from having a lot of harsh, artificial chemicals that can cause irritation, sweating, or odor – a no-no when it’s next to your skin. But using bamboo is great for Mother Nature as well. It’s biodegradable, unlike artificial plastics and oil by-products, and extremely sustainable!  Regrowth can be ready to harvest in as little as 2 months, so we never produce material that goes beyond our means. Plus, unlike cotton, bamboo can grow with very little water, making it the perfect choice in a world where the latter is increasingly a rare and valued resource.

The choice to go organic and prioritize natural, sustainable and smart manufacturing hasn’t always been an easy one, but it’s a decision we’ve never regretted. We hope you join us in our quest to find ways of taking care of our home while still having the most fun we can!
