Why Bamboo?

Green Apple Active is all about going green, and we’ve established products that ensure just that. Using organic bamboo and organic cotton, each piece will be exponentially softer, moisture wicking, flexible and supportive. Bamboo chutes also grow exponentially faster than trees, creating a substantial amount of resources to be used. The benefits of bamboo are vast and provide a reliable resource for clothing. It has often been compared to silk or cashmere due to its incredibly soft texture, though it’s exponentially less expensive.

How it Grows

When we say bamboo is sustainable, we should say it’s potentially the most sustainable resource available. The chutes can grow over a yard in as little as one day. With little water and sunlight needed to grow, bamboo also has deep, intertwining roots. When it is harvested, bamboo never has to be replanted. The roots are so deeply established that it continually starts new chutes, creating a consistent growth for the plant and allowing it to be used for resourcing often.

There are countless reasons to choose bamboo for our fabric. One of the biggest is being the environmental benefits it provides. The bamboo plant provides energy efficiency through minimal watering and sunlight, cleans the air by returning 30% more oxygen to the atmosphere than trees, and is 100% biodegradable. The material is naturally UV resistant. Simultaneously it provides moisture wicking properties, keeping you from overheating, even while you are in the sun. It posses the ability to absorb over four times the amount of moisture as cotton, and allows for better evaporation.

Allergy Friendly

Organic bamboo has natural smooth fibers that don’t cause irritation to skin. If you are, or you know of someone who struggles with finding fabrics that won’t irritate their skin and make it red, bamboo is the answer.
